Add Holding
Mutual funds (e.g. FSKAX, FXAIX, FZILX) don't have a live exchange quote — Finnhub doesn't price them. Add them as Mutual Fund and enter/update the NAV yourself in the table below; it only changes once a day anyway.

Dividend Income (estimated, automatic)
Worked out for you from your holdings — no logging needed. This is what your positions would pay over a year at each company's current declared rate, not a record of cash that actually landed. Finnhub's free tier doesn't expose real payment dates or amounts, so treat it as a forward estimate that ignores cuts, raises, and taxes.

This ledger starts from the moment you record a trade in PerceptFolio — it can't reconstruct purchases you made before adding them here. Deleting a row only removes the history entry; it does not change your current holdings.
Scan a list of tickers
PerceptFolio doesn't browse the market on its own — give it a list and it scores each ticker against your checklist. Scoring takes a few seconds per ticker to stay within Finnhub's free-tier rate limit, so this runs in the background; you can leave the tab and come back.
Not a live scan of the entire market — Finnhub's free tier doesn't offer that. These are curated snapshots per sector (10–20 well-known names each), same honest caveat as the Dow 30/Mega-cap Tech presets above. Loading a sector fills the box below; you still hit Run screen to score them. Or just paste your own list below.

Portfolio Risk
Your single-stock scores can't see this: how concentrated you are in one sector, and how correlated your holdings are with each other (owning 5 stocks that all move together isn't 5 bets — it's 1). This uses extra API calls per stock, so it's calculated on demand rather than on every refresh.
Doesn't need to be in your Portfolio or Watchlist — just check the risk/volatility profile of any ticker before you decide whether to add it.
No simulation, just simple compounding: if I put in $X at Y% for a year, what do I get?
How many shares can I buy? Price per share × how much you're willing to spend.
Simulates thousands of random possible futures based on estimated return and volatility, to show a realistic range of outcomes instead of a single guess. The return/volatility inputs below are assumptions you're setting — adjust them to match your own view, they're not guaranteed numbers.
Set a Price Alert
A business account doesn't hold its own investments in PerceptFolio — Portfolio, Watchlist, and Alerts are hidden here for that reason. Manage client portfolios below, or click Switch on a client to work inside their account.
Create Client
This isn't a real brokerage account for your client — their actual money stays wherever it's actually held (their own broker/custodian). This just gives you, the quant, a separate, walled-off place to track and score that client's holdings by hand, same as any other portfolio in this app. Most people never give the client login access at all — it's for your own recordkeeping. The email below is just an internal ID (it doesn't need to be real, and doesn't need to reach them) unless you specifically want them to log in themselves; if you do, set a password and hand them both. Either way, you can also work in their portfolio anytime via Switch, and export a snapshot for them via Settings → Export if you ever want to hand off a copy.
| Client | Login email | Portfolio value | Unrealized gain | Your fee | Est. fee owed |
|---|
This fee % is just a private note, not a billing system. PerceptFolio has no payment processing and never moves money — "Est. fee owed" is a rough math estimate (fee % × unrealized gain, zero on losses), not an invoice. More importantly: taking a cut of a client's investment gains is a performance-based fee, and under SEC Rule 205-3 of the Investment Advisers Act, advisers generally can't charge performance fees except to "qualified clients" who clear specific net-worth/asset thresholds — and that's on top of needing to be a properly registered or exempt adviser in the first place just to manage someone else's investments for pay at all. Recording a number here doesn't make an arrangement compliant. Talk to a securities attorney before you charge anyone a percentage of their gains.
